Birthday

That's right, boys and girls, I am now 24! Yesterday was the big day and I had an absolutely wonderful time.

I woke up to find these flowers on the table and balloons scattered around the living room. Troy had a 7:00 am meeting, but managed to get up a little earlier to get the house in birthday  mode. If you know Troy, you know getting up super early is no small feat. :)

After teaching a class in the afternoon, I cleaned up and requested dinner at one of my favorite Indian restaurants. Yum! But I had to open my presents before we went.

Troy's cards are by far my favorite thing about birthdays or the holidays. This one is a spotted cat holding an old hearing device to his ear while playing a card game. There is also a bottle with a skull and crossbones on it. Can you guess the gift? I couldn't guess it, but he got me concert tickets to Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick! Eighties rock bands? Troy knows me WAY too well!

And the night wouldn't be complete without my favorite cookies-n-cream ice cream cake. Here is Troy singing a lovely rendition of "Happy Birthday".

It was a fantastic day and thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. This is the third year Troy and I have spent my birthday together (where does the time go?!) and each year he somehow manages to make it better than the previous one.

I totally expected a video, when you said, Here is Troy singing Happy Birthday! I think we would have all gotten quite a kick out of that! Sounds like you had an awesome birthday!

That's funny because on his birthday Troy told me he was just taking a "few photos", but he actually videotaped me slaughtering the song. I tried to videotape him, but he rushed the song before I could switch my camera to video mode. What a stinker!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS LAURA! When Troy and I were skiing we were laughing about the fact that when he turns forty you'll still be in your twenties (for a few months at least). That's awesome-you'll always feel young! It was fun to see you a couple weeks ago!

Thanks Monica! I think Troy likes the idea of bragging about his 20-something wife when he's 40 just a little too much. :) I dare say having a young wife may have been one of my selling points! Just kidding. I sure do feel young and I hope the feeling stays. I had such a great time seeing you, Tammy and babies too!

Happy Birthday on Wed! I am sorry I missed it. It looks like you had fun!

Thanks Kristen! Don't be sorry. I did think about you though as I skipped weight lifting to get cheesecake with my mom. Not the best decision, but I justified it as birthday cheesecake. :)

I wouldn't worry about the cheesecake. As much as you work out. You can afford it:) I was sick (and am still sick) and didn't go to weightlifting anyway, so you made the right choice. LOL
